How
are we doing?
That’s what we’ve been asking ourselves about Partners Metro DC lately.
From a membership standpoint, we celebrate the many new members who’ve joined us
this year, while we’re still working on raising the number of members who will
renew their membership this year. If you haven’t renewed your membership yet
we’d love it if you would do so soon.
From an event standpoint, we’re very pleased with the great events our host
couples have produced and the great turnouts we’ve had, especially new and
prospective members.
From a leadership standpoint, although we’ve had challenges this year, the Board
of Directors has been great, especially filling in for us when my Mom passed
away this summer. They were there when we needed them the most and we thank them
for that.
From the standpoint of new friendships made, we’ve seen couples making friends
all year and we’ve made lots of new friends too. That’s the ultimate goal of
this group, to celebrate gay and lesbian relationships, so we already consider
ourselves successful at this point in the year.
We still have four months to go until our term as Co-Presidents is over and we
have more work to do. We need your help to spread the word about us. If you know
of any couples who haven’t checked us out this year, please encourage them to
come to an event and meet us. We have some great events coming up that are going
to be a lot of fun.
Finally, we want to announce that we’ll be hosting the Annual Meeting and
Elections in January (date TBA) and although we’ve enjoyed being Co-Presidents
this year, work and other commitments prevent us from holding that office next
year. Of course, we’ll be around next year to help the next Presidential Couple
if they need it. We’re opening up nominations now for next years Board of
Directors. If you want to nominate someone (or some couple) for any of the
offices, please contact us.
Thanks for a great year so far. Let’s close it out with great attendance at
great events!

Please check the "Events" link on the homepage. Our next event is the
September Putt Putt Gold Outing and Dinner. More information and directions will be forthcoming. If

Interested Couples
Have an interest in Partners Metro DC, but don’t know how to get the ball
rolling. There are two ways. One, you can attend any one function without being
a member couple to see what the organization is like and then decide if you
would like to join us. The second way is to send an email to
info@partnersdc.com with any questions or concerns. Our President or a Board
member will contact you.
Polo Shirts and Baseball Caps
They are here, Partners Metro DC embroidered polo shirts and baseball caps (see
tab marked 'Logo Items'. Now you can show your support for Gay and Lesbian
relationships by ordering a polo shirt or baseball cap. If you would like a
shirt or cap, please send an email to
info@partnersdc.com with the item, color and size. We will then reply with
the cost of the item with shipping. Once your check is received, we will place
your order and have the item shipped directly to you. We will also be placing a
group order prior to our June 2008 event, this way shipping charges will be
nominal. Support your organization and wear your shirt with pride.
Membership Update
Partners Metro DC currently has over 50 member couples and is still
growing. Volunteer opportunities are available for interested couples willing to
assist with Communications and Events Coordination. If you have these skills and
would like to help out send an email to
info@partnersdc.com or attend any Board Meeting prior to the start of the
social event. We are always interested in providing opportunities for you to
become involved and to share your talents.
Have any ideas???
Partners Metro DC's is always looking for couples to get involved. Have an idea
for a function? Do you have a special interest? Need help in planning an
event? We are here for you. Our success comes from member couples being
willing to "pick up the ball and run" to coordinate a function. We have an eager
Board of Directors ready to assist you in getting an event working. It's your
ideas and planning that make our organization able to offer diverse events
suited for couples and couples with children. Just because the calendar of
events may look complete, doesn't mean we aren't interested in offering other
social events. We are also looking for those small intimate socials after work,
lunches, tours, anything you can think of and would be willing to sponsor. Send
